The Eddy Farm School for Horse & Rider is a non-profit educational organization located in Middlebury, Vermont, whose mission is to teach traditional horsemanship skills and promote amateur athletic competition for everyone in our community, regardless of age or physical capabilities.

Eddy Farm School is host to a large variety of programs and special events throughout the seasons. From Western & English Dressage Lessons, to Summer Riding Camps, and Shiitake Mushroom Clinics, you will find a warm, welcoming, and all inclusive environment here at The Eddy Farm.

Lucile Bump owns and operates Southmowing Stables in Guilford, VT, and hunts regularly with the Guilford Hounds. She is a Senior Level IV Centered Riding Instructor and has been teaching Centered Riding® to all levels and disciplines of riders for more than 20 years. As an internationally travelled clinician, Lucile has taught in Vienna, Austria, Canada, Denmark, England, Germany, Holland, Scotland and Uruguay. Students also come to Southmowing Stables from all over the world and in the United States. Lucile rode with Centered Riding founder, Sally Swift, who developed and wrote two books on the subject, Centered Riding and Centered Riding 2: Further Exploration.

This is a two-day clinic, and Sunday builds on Saturday’s work. Mornings will focus on interactive lectures and the afternoons will be group riding lessons. Groups will be composed of four riders maximum who are of similar riding ability.

Fees and Options:

Auditors: $25; $20 for 15yrs and under, per day 

Riders: $180 (2 days); $90 Saturday only 

Stalls: $20 per day, includes bedding

School horses available: $30 per ride
