The Eddy Farm School for Horse & Rider
1815 South Street Extension
Middlebury, Vermont 05753
Our day will run from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM with a break for a pot-luck lunch in the Eddy Farm's rustic farmhouse kitchen. Drinks will be provided. Please bring a dish to share & chair.
We will start with resident instructor/trainer Margaret Bojanowski giving an overview of the rules of Western dressage and how they apply to you and your horse, what the dressage judge is looking for during your test, gait descriptions, how to deicpher and correctly ride a test, your attire and horse's tack, differences in breeds of horses ~ their frames and horse's impulsion in the Western frame. Questions welcome any time during the discussion as it will be an open format. A demonstration rider will give visuals of the differences in gaits, the horse's frame and impulsion as well as an appropriate turn-out. Walk/jog riders encouraged to attend as well as advanced riders.
When everyone has an understanding of the expections, we will break for a short lunch then begin again with riders working on appropriate manuevers for the tests, practicing weak areas then riding a test of choice with written and verbal feedback from Margaret and the group.
A limited number of school horses are available for this clinic at a cost of $20.00. Stalls are included in the rider fee. Please provide your own bucket & feed for the day. Coggins test and rabies certificate required for those trailering in. For questions please contact Margaret at 802-388-6196 or email@example.com.
